The Peddicord Playhouse and Swogger Gallery lend an elegant air to social functions of all kinds.

Weekend evenings during December are traditionally reserved as much as a year in advance as area businesses and corporations schedule The Columbian for company Christmas parties. It's the perfect place for dinner and entertainment. One area trade association has purchased dinners and all seats for The Columbian's annual Christmas Spectacular for the last 4 years in a row.

Numerous golden wedding anniversaries have been celebrated in the elegance of The Columbian, along with family reunions, bridge parties and special events for groups like the Lions Club and Optimists.

Event rooms include the Peddicord Playhouse, complete with stage and theatre lighting and sound. With flexible seating, it can be configured "party" style featuring tables, chairs and dance floor. The Swogger Gallery can accommodate 160 for dinner, 200 for receptions or a Gallery Corner can be set up for a group as small as 20.

The Columbian Special Events Coordinator works with customers in selecting which parts of the building suit their needs and will gladly assist in recommending approved licensed caterers.
