The Tony Award-winning musical fairy tale follows The Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Audition Information
Join us for auditions at the Columbian Theatre on March 30 or 31, 2025 at 6:30 pm! Please arrive at 6:30 pm if you are able to do so. If you cannot show up right at 6:30, we understand. We do ask that you allot a minimum of one hour for the entire audition process. Auditions will conclude at 9 pm.
Please prepare to sing 32 bars of a song that best showcases your voice and vocal range.
Casting Needs
Women:
· Baker’s Wife – Age: 30s-40s – Voice: Mezzo-soprano; Determined and bright. Romantic at heard, but materialistic. Good singing voice and acting skills required.
· The Witch – Age: 20s-70s – Voice: Mezzo-soprano; Outwardly: self-serving, possessive, sarcastic, vain, charismatic. Inwardly: insecure and lonely. Hugely challenging role, strong singing and acting required.
· Cinderella – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Soprano; Earnest, warm-hearted, kind, trying to find her place in the world. A survivor. Good singing voice required.
· Red Riding Hood – Age: Teen-20s - Voice: Mezzo Soprano; Spoiled, clever, vain. Fun character.
· Rapunzel – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: High Soprano; Lovely maiden, but loopy. Innocent of worldly matters. Good singing voice required.
· Jack’s Mother – Age: 40s-60s – Voice: MezzoSoprano/Soprano; Strong willed and a fighter. Good acting required.
· Cinderella’s Stepmother – Age: 40s-60s – Voice: Mezzo-Soprano; Mean spirited, greedy, demanding. Strong character role
· Lucinda – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Mezzo-Soprano; Cinderella’s step-sister. Mean spirited, loud, energetic. Strong character role.
· Florinda – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Mezzo-Soprano; Cinderella’s step-sister. Mean spirited, loud, energetic. Strong character role.
· Granny – Age: 50s-70s – Voice: Open Range, ensemble singing only; Bitter, vindictive, feisty. Strong humorous role – looking for actor over singer
· Milky White – 20s-30s – Voice: No singing – Dancer that can move well and tell a story through their movement
· Snow White – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Open Range, ensemble singing only; small role
· Sleeping Beauty – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Open Range, ensemble singing only; small role
Men:
· Baker – Age: 30s-40s – Voice: Baritone; Average working man. Warm hearted, determined, yet insecure. Strong singing voice and acting skills required.
· Jack – Age: Teen-20s – Voice: Tenor; Giant Killer. Impulsive, eager to please. Strong singing voice and acting skills required.
· Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf – Age: 20s-early 30s – Voice: Baritone; Vain, very confident. Also needs to be seductive, hungry, and sensual. Good acting skills required.
· Narrator/Mysterious Man – Age: 30s-60s – Voice: Open Range; Good storyteller, mostly acting role with minimal singing
· Rapunzel’s Prince – Age: 20s-30s – Voice: Baritone; Vain, very confident. Good acting skills required
· Steward – Age: 30s-60s – Voice: Open Range, ensemble singing only – Surly, bureaucratic
· Cinderella’s Father – Age: 40s-60s – Voice: Open Range, ensemble singing only; A drunk, well-meaning, small role
